April 13th, 2022 | EP. 6 – Back In The ICU — Narrated by Abby Taylor

Abby, Gracie’s mom, here with a quick update.

We had a good and mostly quiet week up on the 11th floor in Gracies private villa. Tommy and I were able to participate in Gracies care more; ie Changing her diapers, bathing and dressing her afterward, preparing and administrating her tube feedings, and picking her up or holding her whenever we wanted. Gracie’s nurse came into our room Monday evening around 9 PM to start her normal medicines. After Gracie’s bath and feeding, around 10 PM, we noticed her blood oxygen levels were dipping. The nurse, being concerned, paged the charge nurse (who was also concerned) who then, paged the doctor on call. After more poking and prodding and trying to determine what was wrong, Gracie finally started responding to an increase in oxygen. Unfortunately, the amount of oxygen that our girl needed was a higher level than the 11th floor could support and they said we would need to move back down to the ICU.  We waited a few hours for a bed to be available as I packed up the room. Around 2 AM we were rushed back down to the ICU. Waiting there in the ICU, were a bunch of nurses and doctors who started checking on Gracie immediately. That lasted for a few hours. Gracie’s numbers became a little more stable overnight and into the morning with a continuous increase in oxygen.
I am writing this on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022. As the whole medical team is trying to wean Gracie’s oxygen while also figuring out why this happened and what the next steps are. Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of answers yet but I wanted to provide an update. Our sweet little heart warrior is in need of all of the prayers.

We thank you for your continued support and love for our little family💕

Sincerely,
Abby
